My wife and I like to eat at restaurants in our app (Menyu for iOS). We typically use the app to view the restaurant menus before we leave. Based on a menu we both like, we choose a restaurant. Once in the car, I tap the directions icon on the restaurant within the app. My iPhone charts my trip and off we go.
We typically do lunch on Saturdays. Sometimes we do dinner on Thursday or Friday, but our favorite is a nice local restaurant on Saturday. Living in Hudson, OH one of my absolute favorite restaurants is Burntwood Tavern in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. They open at 11am, so they're a great Saturday early lunch spot.
Per Burntwood's website, "the Cuyahoga Falls restaurant is located in the former powerhouse of a Cuyahoga River dam. Originally built in 1914, the powerhouse building now houses the bar area. The numerous patio areas directly overlook the picturesque Cuyahoga River, which now follows its natural flow after the dam was removed as part of the city's centennial celebration in 2013. Guests can enjoy beautiful views from these areas, as well as watching the kayakers who now follow the river path."
Although I've been there a half dozen times and haven't seen any kayakers yet, I've certainly had my share of breathtaking views of the river. We often get seated in the tavern area at a table by the windows overlooking the river. I love drinking a nice beer, conversing with my wife, and watching the rapids.
Their service and food, like the view, are great. We do go at off times, so I can't speak for when its packed, but my wife and I have had excellent service every single time we've ate there. Additionally, the manager is really nice and personable and will occasionally stop by your table and ask how things are.
The burgers are awesome, fish sandwich great, chicken parmesan sandwich top-notch, and the tater tots...well the tater tots in my opinion are off the charts. They melt in your mouth and are one of my favorite dishes in all of Northeast Ohio. I always eat lunch and haven't ate dinner at Burntwood, so I can't speak to those dishes, but my guess is they are also excellent.
If you live a close distance to Cuyahoga Falls and are looking for a great view with great food and service, you should definitely stop by Burntwood Tavern. I did about 6 months ago and I'm glad I did. What a treasure I was missing out on all while living just down the road in Hudson.
