The Lockview Restaurant in Akron, OH

Since early 2017 I had been wanting to check out Lockview in Akron. They have many grilled cheese sandwiches, which I tend to love. I also added their menu into our app, so it had been on my radar.
The weekend after 4th of July, 2017 had amazing weather. My wife and I wanted to have a well proportioned lunch, preferably lunch outside, and afterward walk a bit of it off. Well, The Lockview fit the bill perfectly. The dishes looked great in the app, but not too much food for a lunch, the rooftop patio could not have been better for eating outside, and there was a car show and live music right across the street at the Lock 3 concert venue. I mean, come on, how great does that sound! Lunch on a rooftop on a modest July day with an amazing view and an event with live music to hang around afterward.
With our midday planned, my wife and I jumped into the car, headed down route 8 (one tap in the Menyu app had it mapped on my iPhone) and were at Lockview within 10 minutes or so.
Before I continue about Lockview, let me comment on the restaurant scene in downtown Akron, OH. If you live in the area and never go to downtown Akron to eat, you might want to. There are many great restaurants downtown like Bricco, El Gato Taqueria, Crave, Brubaker's Pub, and many more. Also, parking is easy and plentiful. There is tons of parking right off the street and the parking meters are free on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).
Back to Lockview. We were met at the door by a nice hostess who asked us if we wanted to dine downstairs or on the rooftop. We chose the rooftop. What an awesome experience! They have plenty of seating on the roof and a scaled-down bar (the full bar is downstairs). The views of the other rooftops and buildings is just too cool.
Our lunch was good. We got an appetizer of chips and salsa. For our lunch, I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and my wife ordered a burger. We both had fries as our side. The sandwiches are not huge, so the food did not make me too lethargic. We had a young lady as our waitress and she provided good service. No complaints at all.
Currently it is 40 degrees in Ohio and hovering around zero for most of the Winter. But rest assured, once it warms up again we will certainly be making our regular visits to the Lockview rooftop.
